Barcelona Skirt - FINISHED!

So i have finally finished my Amy Butler Barcelona skirt. It was a good pattern, a little confusing at times but easy to make. The underneath skirt pattern is a very simple A-line skirt and the top apron cover is a double sided, reversible tie-around style.

I love it, husband thinks it's "peculiar" . I also had comments from people at work including "Why are you wearing an apron?" and "Well, that's definitely unique".

I think that you would probably get a better effect if the underskirt is in a different fabric to the apron overlay fabrics, but i really like it and i like being "Unique"!

(please excuse my photos, to hot to go outside and take nice ones!)

Front
Underskirt
Back (god my arse looks big!)

I am definitely happy with my sewmanship (is that a word?) I didn't cut any corners and was patience and finished it off nicely, you should see my hand sewn rolled hem!
I will definitely use this pattern again, with some different fabric. Also there is one more pattern for a different style skirt to try too.

Click here to view the pattern I used.

Your arse does not look big in this at all. I love it too. You really are clever Katy. I think you should try and be totally unique and go with what you feel is right for you. Love the bow - bows are big!

do the two pieces remain seperate so you could change the overskirt for a different one ... so many options so little time :) le xox

I'm impressed with your sewmanship, too, and if that's not a word, well, it is now :)

So glad you posted. Yesterday Gabe and I heard about the brush fires in Australia, and I gasped. We were worried about "our Katie in Australia". We had to say a prayer right then, Gabe was so upset.

I'm gonna go tell him right now that you're okay...
