Brisbane Stitches and Craft Show

What a big day!
love this! Ideas raining from the clouds:-)

I started off very excited but also worried i had booked too many classes and i wouldn'y have enough time to just mill around and spend money - well... let me tell you i definitely had enough time to spend money - tooo much time......
beautiful quilts at the show

My first workshop was with Dear Fii, on how to make a button bracelet. So simple but so funky!! I love it!

Then i learn how to do stamp carving with Holly from Two Cheese Please. My new obession, i cvan't wait to get some fabric paint and start printing fabric with my own designs. In the class i created this stamp of a dragon fly.

Later on that night i carved this stamp which kind of reminds me on art nouveau/deco. I love how they look when stamped over and over creating a pattern.
My husband though he would find out how they looked stamped on my forehead. Thanks Hub! ...Mental note - Stamp pad ink doesn't come off easily....

I purchased some beautiful fabric handprinted by Thea and Sami. I can't waiting to do her screen printing course on the 16th of May. The purple is so vibrant, i'm looking forward to creating something out of this..

My friend Jo and her son Jamie came along with me. We had a stop in at the Reconstruction Zone. Jamie created this shirt from bits and pieces of old clothes.

I bought some fabric from Ink & Spindle.

Some japanese prints, the little animals were too cute to resist.

Some Japanese paper - to make some more pendants.

Some Japanese style Fat 1/4's. Slowly i am accumulating enough to make a quilt.

Look at all these great cars i picked up so i could remember all the funky stalls.

I also had my first meeting with a blogger in person.. I got to meet Carleen in person, from Windscreamers. How cool! She was also wearing the necklace i made her for a swap. I wish i had taken a picture! Nice to meet you Carleen :-)

Overall, i had a fun day! Any lucky Sydney people that have to chance to go when it comes to town definitely go! It was awesome...

Oh man, I love that flower design! That rocks so much as a stamp and let me tell you, you're going to make some gorgeous fabric!

I popped your link in my last entry, I hope you don't mind :)

I buy my fabric ink from Karaku on etsy, a Japanese seller - http://www.etsy.com/profile.php?user_id=5202430

You can also use fabric paint with a fabric medium to thin it down a little - just pop it on a sponge to make your own stamp pad!

I love the Japanese animal fabric. Are you willing to tell me what brand it is or where to find it? I have no idea what I'd want to do with it, but I just want to own it.

If so, you can email me through my blog.

Wasn't the show great! I was like you having so much fun meeting many people you've only read about on blogs. And bought big, though I didn't do any classes! Biggest purchase - an overlocker!
