Under the Sea

Would love everyone's help with fabrics!

I am now planning an underwater themed nursery, based on a book i have called "The Rainbow Fish" by Marcus Pfister. It is such a beautiful book with holographic foiling on the fish scales...

There are also a series of books now in the series.

There are also prints at Art.com.

But i looking for the crafty side of things, So i am going to do some wall painting but i am looking for some soft toy patterns, i have found this one by Melly and Me.

Under the Sea Softie Pattern by Melly and Me
Available at Belsizesquare.

But i need to find some fabrics (like the watercolour style of the book paintings), to make all my nursery stuff (am i just wishful thinking that i am going to find time?) and maybe some more patterns for softies etc. If you know of any let me know!

I have a week off next week so hopefully i am going to crack out the sewing machine for the first time in the new house!

On the Bub front - i am now 12 weeks!! Yippeee! I have the big 12 week scan and a OBGYN appointments next week so i get to see Peanut (our nickname!) 2 times next week! Will post some photos!

That will be beautiful! I remember seeing some really good sea creatures ages ago that would make a really nice mobile... I'll see if I can find them again and I'll send you the link

You MUST do seahorses! I love how they embellished with beads and sequins, I think that would work nicely with the rainbow fish theme

Hi Katy,
How exciting to see bub next week, I can't wait to see the photos.
I thought of some fabric that would be awesome for your rainbow fish and have searched the web and found some pictures here:

I think the pink-purple-blue collection would be fabulous. Only trouble is, it might be difficult to find this fabric, it's a few years old. I'll keep looking and let you know if I find any.
Last year, Homespun magazine featured a gorgeous turtle made by Louise from Audrey and Maude. Are you going to the next Brown Owls meeting? If so, I'll bring the mag along so you can see Tickles the Turtle, I love him to bits!

I love the idea of an ocean-themed nursery; we loved that book, too!

When Isabel turned four, we had a Little Mermaid birthday, and turned our basement into "Under the Sea". It was awesome, though temporary. I can't wait to see what you do with your crafty self on this project!

Hope you're doing well, little Momma!
