The Nursing Cushion

This is the cushion i made for my Bro and Sis-in-Law and nephew Sebastian. I used a light flannel for the cover and appliqued on a boat... very basic but i am just learning!

I used Burda Pattern 9635, it worked pretty well but i found the zip hard and it doesn't sit flat across the top but it doesn't affect the cushion at all. I used heaps of stuffing to make it nice and firm. I have since been told it is a hit and being used regularly!

Now to the next project! To all the mothers out there, what was the most handy, most used item, when you had a new born?

That cushion and its applique look sensational! The pattern for the sleeveless sleeping bag looks good. If you make it so that it has a zipper running downwards and there is a slit in the back then it can be used with a 5-point harness in a pram or carseat. Very useful!

it looks great & definately useful.
I was also a big one for the sleeping bags. the sleeveless ones were great as you could then layer bub inside. I just made them in fleece, doubled when small then single layer when older. They are so great for when the sheets just won't stay up. I never made one with a seat belt slot but they were a bit long for growth which would have allowed a belt to scrunch it up.
